Richard was preparing his house for sale and wanted to install new roller blinds and curtains. He had two windows that required both a roller blind and curtain, along with three other curtain poles that needed to be installed.
The curtain poles were relatively simple to install. The key was to center them over the window openings and ensure the curtains hung just above the floor or slightly shorter. It was also important to position the brackets far enough in so that the last hook could be secured between the bracket and the finial.
The roller blinds, however, were more challenging. They needed to be cut to the correct size, which involved trimming the tube at the top, the weight at the bottom, and adjusting the width of the blind itself. Another common challenge with roller blinds is finding adequate support for inside mounts. Often, when mounting to the top inside of a window frame, you encounter a metal lintel. Drilling through this requires self-tapping screws and the right tools. Fortunately, I had cobalt drill bits, which made it easy to drill through the steel.
Richard was very pleased with the work, and the final result was quite impressive.
